Flashcards imprint images on our minds, and when key words, quotations and dates are included with those pictures, the effect is terrific. Students view the picture on a given card, recite the date and event name and provide a brief synopsis. Branching off from the flashcards allows ample opportunity for further study; by simply reading a few books on the topic (both nonfiction and fiction), we create a context into which each event nestles itself.
Our flashcards are printed in color on high-quality card stock and laminated. The images were carefully chosen to best represent the events since the students will associate each event with a specific picture. The back of each flash card contains a quotation, poem, Scripture passage, maxim, or hymn stanza for memorization, along with a concise statement and key words.
